In lieu of a standalone EPIP conference this year, EPIP is co-hosting the CHANGE Philanthropy Unity Summit. The UNITY Summit will bring together 700 people CHANGE's ten partner organizations* for one of philanthropy's m


ost diverse, equity-focused and intersectional gatherings. Come explore ways to harness philanthropy to protect marginalized communities, resist attacks on our most deeply held ideals, and build power across difference.

This reception honors the need for exclusive spaces for philanthropic practitioners of color to connect with one another. Join your colleagues for a space to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and talk about whatever you want with a welcome from Mary Hooks from Southerns on New Ground and the National Bail out, Storme Gray from the Washington Area Women's Foundation, and Will Cordery from Wellspring Advisors.

Sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, this workshop will equip participants with tools and strategies to better take on the leadership challenges emerging leaders face in philanthropy. The workshop curriculum draws from the Foundation’s Results Count framework, developed to drive measurable improvements in the lives of children and families.

Tuesday, September 19th, 2017, 1:30-3:00PM  >>  Breakout Session — Internal Advocacy for Equity: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Co-organized with the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy

At a time when many foundations are wrestling with their roles in promoting equity, it is more vital than ever that internal leaders have the tools and support they need to advocate internally. Modeled after EPIP’s Emerging Leader Salons, this session will feature stories from practitioners who have successfully -- or not so successfully -- worked to advance equity within their institutions.
